FOXTON meeting
10-MORROW AND MONDAY FIRST DAY’S CARD REVIEWED
..-Aucklander Nucleus will be I* lß her first outing over sticks at ai* n " on the opening day at Foxton fojton ghe has the pace- an d j £ she "’"‘jump should do all right at the (K. G. Morris) and star. The former was backed
at Feilding at her first public J "arance, and although she led into « straight she felt the want of a race (inished out of a place. Never‘s less u was an impressive debut. “7 jjeid of eight remains in the Foxn CUP to-morrow, and from the holi(orm the public will practically nline their attention to Kllmiss and " nil The former was not herself H d could not race during the holiiavs but she is all right again. Henna STieht have beaten Stormy in the Mar- ' dup with a more vigorous rider „ the saddle. ' in the Himatangi and Awahou Hacks •everal horses claim dual engagements, ind in their respective races probably jlaui and Vigilance will come in for heavy support. The open sprint at Foxton will find the speedy Vast Acre (L. G. Morris) in the running. She was beaten the jrst day at Marton, and the next she defeated Kiosk, when in receipt of 191 b. outside of Vast Acre, Epistle will come in for solid backing. The five furlongs and a-half, over which the Marotiri Hack is run at foxton to-morrow, makes it look hard for those that will be found in oppontion to Helotis, who is a very smart
•printer, who may later on pay her way in open company. White Ringlet will also be suited by the journey, but.she does not appear of the same class as Helotis, who by the way is a halfsister to Llcinius. The three topweights in the Herrington Welter to-morrow at Foxton will probubly be found too good for the others lower down. Whenuanui is a good sort when in the mood, and as he won handsomely at Marton probably he will be again conspicuous. It was at the Foxton course last year that Whenuanui started on his winning sequence, scoring twice here and going on to win three out of his next four rates. However, Beaumont revels in ibis class of race, and with his cdd pilot L. G. Morris, again in the saddle he should account for the Wanganui representative.
The hurdle horseman, H. Burt, will rids Polyphemus in his engagement at Foxton, while the apprentice A. G. Murray will pilot Dobbin, Lady Fave and Shining Star. L. G. Morris will also be riding at Foxton in preference t» Trentham.
