LON CHANEY IN “MOCKERY” Ricardo Cortez, noted as a. delineator of romantic roles on the screen, plays the romantic lead in Lon Chaney s new Metro-Gold wvn-Mayer vehicle, “Mockery.” which Benjamin Christensen directed for Metro -Goldwyn-Mayer, ana which will be shown at the Grand Theatre to-day. The new story is a' vivid romance of Russia, laid in the early part of the revolution, with Chaney in the role oi a strange, hermit-like peasant V v* » through a strange trick of taxe, oe- < > omes the virtual dictator ot the Itea hordes swarming over the empire. A notable cast is assembled m tm Picture, with Emily Fitzroy, Mach Swain, Barbara Bedford, and others of note in interesting character roles. The new story is an original -on hy Director Christensen.
