ROYAL, KINGSLAND
“FASHIONS FOR WOMEN” Esther Ralston’s first Paramount starring production, arriving' at the Theatre Royal to-night, holds forth promise of many things. Those who’ve seen beautiful Miss Ralston in “Old Ironsides,” “The Blind Goddess ’ or “The Quarterback” need no explanations as to why she was given a hand in scaling the heights of stardom. The story, adapted from a French play, “The Girl of the Hour,” is the amusing tale of Celeste de Givray, “zee mos beautiful woman in all Paree.” Celeste disappears on the eve of the annual fashion show, and her modistes are distracted because without Celeste their gowns will not be shown to advantage. Then Providence, in the shape of Sam Dupont, energetic press agent, offers the job to Lola Dauvry, an attractive cigarette girl who looks like the model, and the fun begins. Raoul De Bercy, a famous French ace, becomes involved, as does the Duke of Arles, Celeste’s admirer.
