WALKER’S RINK BEATEN FOSTER WINS HARD GAME (Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. Weather and greens were perfect for the seventh round of the rinks and third round of the pairs at St. Albans this morning. The Auckland team, F. E. Marriott, J. L. Keys, C. Muston and M. Walker (skip), met the Caledonian rink, which comprised Kettle, Langley, Hutchison and Foster (skip). The game was fought out to the last head and resulted in a defeat for the Auckland team by one point—l 7-16. The game was full of incident, Foster’s team probably being better balanced on the day. Muston and Walker again played well and saved their team on several occasions when the position was serious. booster now meets Edwards, and both have two lives. Walker was 13 —7 on Foster on the twelfth head, but he stuck on the devil’s number for six heads while the Caledonian men evened.up by ones ar twos. The score on fhe seventeenth was 13 all. On the last head Walker, needing three to tie, managed to collect two and finished one down. In the third round of the pairs H Clarke (Carlton) met Feilding (Hataitai) and lost by 26—20 after a good contest, in which Feilding.showed some great form. Feilding now meets Chambers (Sumner) in the next round. has now beaten Walker twice in this tournament and the Caledonian team are favourites for the next game. For the. singles on Saturdaj' C. Muston (Auckland) is drawn to meet T. Edwards (Temuka) and both having two lives they are drawn for the following round. Muston will then meet Ferguson (Balmacewan) and Edwards plays H. Clark, of the Carlton Club.
