MORRINSVILLE OFFICIALS The following officials were appointed for the swimming carnival to be held in the Morrinsville Baths on Tuesday, January 24;—Starter, Mr. A. Needham; check starter, Mr. B. Chapman; judges, Messrs. L. Aiken, J. Ensor, J. F. Oates and I. Jones; competitors’ stewards, Messrs. D. Ganley, R. Vivian, N. F. Barker; announcer, Mr. M. G. Philpott; starting board stewards, Messrs. C. Davidson and McPherson; women’s steward, Miss D. Cargill; timekeepers, Messrs. J. Scott and T. Goble; referee, Mr. B. Chapman; diving judge, Mr. F. A. Hannon; ground steward, Mr. C. Mclntyre; gatekeeper, Mr. J. Elder; assistant secretary, Mr. E. Gregg. Messrs. F. McDonald and Mr. Colson defeated Messrs. E. Gummer and Foster for the Morrinsville Tennis Club’s challenge stars. Morrinsville has several young members giving promise of developing into fine players, and in a year or two should hold its own in open tournament play. The Morrinsville District High School is fifth on the list of schools in the Auckland education district for junior national scholarship successes.
