Good Matches in Prospect
THE seventh round of senior grade matches played under the auspices of the Suburban Cricket Association will be commenced to-morrow and all games should be interesting.
UPON its good showing in its last match against Ellerslie, Ponsonby should by rights prove superior over Harbour Board B. The Colts, however, are showing much improved form, as witness the decisive defeat of Glen Eden, and may make it hot for the Ponies. The win should put heart into the Colts, but Ponsonby is a hard side to beat.
Green Lane made a poor show of stemming the flow of victory that has been Harbour Board A’s and it now remains to see what Ellerslie can do. Ellerslie has some fine, big scoring batsmen and should be able to run up a score that will make things hard for the Board. The attack may be troublesome but it is not wonderful. This game will be the best of the series and Harbour Board will have to go all out to maintain its position. The teams meeting innings defeats in the last matches will meet to-mor-row and this game should be very close. Neither is strong, but each is well matched, and it will be interesting to see whether Green Lane qan secure a win for once. It is hard to predict, however, who will win.
