PLENTY OF WATER AT ONE TREE HILL
RESTRICTIONS UNNECESSARY The water supply foj: the district is in a very satisfactory condition, reported the engineer to the One Tree Hill Road Board last evening. The level of the well was holding steadily and the pumping time averaged about 18 hours a day. There was no need for anxiety at present nor was there any need for any special economy to be practised. The board received' many inquiries from ratepayers, said the chairman, Mr. R. G. Clark, but no restrictions regarding the use of garden hoses had been imposed. The building inspector reported that since December 13 10 permits for dwellings and other buildings to the total value of £3,390 had been issued. The allocation of public works expenditure until the end of the financial year was £8,250, £7,301 of which had been earmarked.
