MONTHLY LUNCHEON At the monthly meeting of the To Awamutu Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday evening, arrangements for the monthly luncheon of business people were discussed, it being reported that both the Minister of Health, the Hon. J. A. Young, M.P., and Professor W. Riddet had been approached to give lecturettes, and that both had replied expressing regret at their inability to do so. Mr. J. Oliphant had consented to give (m address, taking as his subject “Mercantile Law.” Mr. D. S. Reid, M.P., acknowledged the chamber’s representations to have three local men appointed to the commission of the peace, stating he had recommended them to the Minister of Justice.
