FAT LAMBS

The Railway Department has experienced difficulty in supplying transport facilities at Te Kuiti for the large number of fat lambs which are being sent from the district. The first draft from the Whataroa Estate, numbering 1,500, was forwarded on Tuesday to Waingawa, in the Wairarapa. Eighteen trucks of fat lambs were | dispatched on Monday—nine to Waitara and the remainder to Tomoana, while 14 loads left Poro-o-taroa for Aorangi Works, at Feilding. A large c< alignment of lambs at Ivopaki is awaiting transport to AVaitara at the earliest opportunity.
