MANY MOTORISTS FINED HEAVY DAY IN CITY COURTS Nearly 200 motorists who had ignored the traffic regulations during the holiday period paid the price of their folly at the Police and Magistrate’s Courts to-day. A number of negligent driving cases were heard in the Police Court, and fines up to £3 were imposed. Twenty-three were fined 10s for leaving cars unattended in Queen Street. Twenty-five were fined 10s and 20s for not having their cars lighted at night. In the Magistrate’s Court the City Council prosecutions were heard, but these were more varied, no type of offence being predominant numerically. The fines imposed ranged from 10s to £3. Wallath, Percy Wingrove, Herbert Barry, Reginald Craig, Carl Dickinson, Trevor Deane, Edmund Essery, Bertram Grainger, E. Keesing, B. Leen, James Lockie, Ivy Meadows, Robert Mcßae, Gashia Patel, Richard Veza, Bertram Webb, Leslie Williams, Leopold Cole, Terence Farrelly, and Percy Webb, 10s each, with costs. James Fitzgerald, Walter Burns, Frank Smith, Roy Grainger, Herbert Hebden, William Griffiths, . Walter Young, Robert Atford, Richard Hall, Gum Lowe, R. Newton, Lionel Ross, Roy Logan, and Catherine Thompson, 20s each, with costs. Walter Burns, G. E. Creagh, Albert Coffey, William Stevenson, and Walter Feltham, £2 each. Ralph Watkins was fined £3 for negligent driving. CITY COUNCIL PROSECUTIONS Donald Brown. Leslie Braith waite. John H. McKinlay, Alfred Harris, Charles Crang. Basil Bull. Kate Lar>gdon, Eric Oaxenden, and P. Schief,* were each fined 10 s. Leonard Tozer, Arthur Smith, Ernest Starkey, J. F. Hamilton, Franklin Quiltor, N. J. O’Meara. Leslie Spending, and Frit ton McKendrick were each fined 20s. Ming Sang. William Madson Alt. B. H. Moss, W. J. Buckley, Ellen A. MacMillan, Manu F. Smith. Reginald Woolley. Len Thornley. Alfred Robson, F. W. Eaton, and J. L. Fisher, were each fined 30s. George Miles, Robert Hampton. Keith Caldwell. A. A. Smith, Harry Whisker, and Huia Donaldson were each fined £2. William White was fined £3. and F. B. Waters and H. G. Walton, £4 each.
