This factor will lend a good deal of local interest to the function and the fortunes.of pacers and trotters from the North will h« closely followed during their mission to the East. Altogether 15 representatives from .li. part of the Dominion have been eht worthy of nomination, includf fl a Whangarei and Waikato delejjjf. both of whom were winners at 5.,1r last appearance. The Auckland contingent has recent form to recom- ' *nd them in the majority of cases, „d there should be a reasonable pros0f some of the gold of the Bay Joming across to this coast. Rtturn to Form The success which attended the Vornlngeide trainer. J. H. Herring, in Ms mission to Greytown with the aged muro Lady Barrington has encouraged Ihe owner to again try his luck away from home. The Gold Bell mare has been nominated for the Hastings Testing, and all going well in the interval she will make the trip. Lady Barrington had not previously won heat for some time, and her return to form will be pleasing to her connections. C. Andrews is a regular visitor to Alexandra Park with the El Carbine gelding Carnui, who was among the also started division at the Northland fixture last month. Carnui, who has furnished into a fine out of a horse, is showing improvement in his track essays, and provided he comes to hand sufficiently well before acceptances close for Hastings, the Ei Carbine gelding will make one of the Auckland team for the East Coast. When Ho Strikes Form Explosion, who let the public as well as his connections down so badly at Claudelands. and then at Whangarei won his way into their good graces again, has hern accorded a nomination for the Hawke’s Bay Cup. If the «,n of Nelson Bingen la dressed in his best for such a mission he will be sure to not only command respect from backers, but also from those who will oppose him for the stake. J. Shaw is paying every attention to the four-vear-old who sooner or later will repay him for the trouble. Ready for the Fray
