SANDERS CUP TRIALS

Th© first of a series of trial races to decide the boat to represent Auckland in the annual contest for the Sanders Cup will be held to-day, starting at King’s Wharf at five o’clock. The boats expected to take part in the race are Rona, Avalon, Joan, and Queen March. Competitors are requested to assemble off the wharf .it 4.45 p.m. to receive instructions regarding the course. The second race will be held on Thursday starting at 5 p.m. The third will take place on Saturday, starting at 1.30 p.m. Rona will be sailed by Alex Matthews: Avalon, by Joe Patrick; Joan, by W. Potter, and Queen March, by A. H. Wilkinson.
