Sir Maui Pomare, ActingMinister for Internal Affairs, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. He will leave for Fiji tomorrow by the Niagara. Mr. L. Macintosh Ellis, Director of Forestry, who attended the opening of the road through the Waipoua Forest last week, will leave for the South this evening. Mr. and Mrs. J. Rea, of Denver. Colorado, who have been on a holiday visit to New Zealand, will return by the Niagara to-morrow. They are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. G. Baildon. Mayor of Auckland, returned to his office at the Town Hall this morning after three weeks spent on a launch trip, which included calls at Russell and the Great Barrier. Captain Nicholas Everitt, whe during the war was with the British Secret Service, arrived from Sydney by the Niagara this morning.
