“GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES”

BIG PARAMOUNT PICTURE Pictorial enunciation, used naturally and to a marked degree by Ruth Tavlor, has resulted in the elimination of more than two dozen subtitles from the Paramount screen version of Anita Loos’s “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.” “Final decision as to the elimination depends on Miss Loos's approval since she is to do the iinal editing and titling,’■ director St. Clair explained. “I am sure, however, that she will agree with me that Miss Taylor’s perfect speech makes them unnecessary. ’Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” is to be one of Paramount's big pictures of the year. It has a well selected cast, including Miss Taylor, Chester Cpnklin Ford Sterling, Mack Swain. Alice White, Blanche Friderici, Holmes Herbert and Trixie Friganza. NEW COMEDY SERIES WORK FOR PARAMOUNT By way of proving that A 1 Christie's demand for variety is working out in his new series of comedies for Paramount, six of the prominent comedians at the studio are now completing work on about the widest range of comedy characterisations imaginable for pictures which will be released shortly. Neal Bums is a night club nut in “Mad Scrambles”; Bobby Vernon is a plumber in “Splash Yourself”; Billy Dooley is a flagpole sitter in “Dizzy Sight”: Jack Duffy is a sulky-race driver in “Nifty Nags”: Jimmie Adams is a mountain climber in "Hwiss Movements”: while Anne Cornwall will be a prize-fighter in "Fighting Fanny.”
