Oil Company's tanker, Paua, sailed from Auckland for Napier to continue dis- ■ charging hulk oil from the company’s 1 tanks at Wellington. The vessel has been ( at Auckland about a week. MATAKANA AT WELLINGTON. —To fill up for Home the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matakana arrived at Wellington yesterday from Wanganui. The vessel is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington on Wednesday for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, via Panama. HINEMOA REPORTS.—A radio message received by Spedding Limited states that the Government steamer Hinemoa is meeting with bad weather and is not expected to arrive at Auckland before tomorrow morning from Norfolk Island. The vessel leaves Auckland on January 25 on her return trip to Norfolk Island. TOFU A LEAVES APlA.—Cable advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Island passenger steamer Tofua sailed from Apia, Samoa, at 3 p.m. last Friday for Suva and Auckland. The Tofua is to clear Suva on Thursday afternoon and should arrive at Auckland next Monday, MAUNGANUI FROM SYDNEY. —Due at Auckland early to-morrow morning from Sydney, the local office of the Union Company advises that the passenger steamer Maunganui will berth at the Central Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. The Maunganui sails from Auckland at 3 p.m. next Friday on her return trip to Sydney. HORORATA COMPLETING.—Arriving at Auckland at midnight from* Napier, the N.Z. Shipping Company's steamer Hororata berthed this morning at the Queen's Wharf to complete her loading. The Hororata is expected to clear Auckland next Saturday, January 21, for New York, Halifax, and London, via Panama. MANUKA AT MELBOURNE.—CabIed news received by the Union Company reports that the Manuka arrived at Melbourne at 5 p.m. on Thursday from Wellington. The vessel is timed to leave again a t 10 a.m. next Wednesday for Wellington, via Milford Sound, thence to Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff, and should arrive at Wellington on January 23. TAMAROA RETURNS,—To complete her loading for Home under the agency of L. D. Nathan and Company, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Tamaroa returned to Auckland yesterday morning from Wellington and berthed at the Queen’s Wharf. The Tamaroa te scheduled to sail finally from this port at daybreak next Saturday, January 21, for Southampton and London, via Panama. GALLIC LOADING.- —Leaving New .iy mouth to-morrow, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Gallic will load at Wanganui roadstead, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne and Auckland. She is due here on February 1 and is announced to clear this port finally on February 9 for New York, Halifax, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Panama. L. D. Nathan and Company will act as the local agents. CYDONIA RADIOS.—The N.Z. Shipping Company has received a further radio message stating that the tramp steamer Cydonia is expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at 3 o’clock this afternoon from Montreal. After pratique has been granted, the Cydonia berths at the Prince’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo before proceeding ter Wellington, thence Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australia to complete. NILE ARRIVING THIS EVENING. — According to a further radio report received this morning by the local agents, Messrs. Robert Millar and Company, from the tramp steamer Nile, the vessel is expected to arrive off Rangitoto at nine o'clock this evening. She will anchor in the stream and at 10 o’clock to-morrow morning will berth at King’s Wharf to discharge 4,250 tons of sulphate. The remainder of her cargo is for Lyttelton, Kew Plymouth and Wanganui. TUTANEKAI IN PORT.—From Wellington via East Coast lighthouses, the New Zealand Government lighthouse supply steamer Tutanekai arrived at Auckland shortly before noon on Saturday and berthed at the Prince’s Wharf. The vessel was able to work all the lighthouses en route. Owing to a rough north-east sea the crew had considerable difficulty in landing stores at Gable End Foreland, East Cape and Cuvier Island. After loading stores to-day the vessel will sail at six o’clock to-morrow morning for the buoys and beacons in the Hauraki Gulf. She will not return to Auckland, but will proceed from the Gulf to Northern lighthouses. Captain J. Bollons is in command and associated with him are the following officers: Chief, Mr. G. M Simpson; second, Mr. H. Williams; third, Mr. J. Johnson; wireless operator, Mr. A. H. Ciarke; chief engineer, Mr. W. Peterson; second, Mr. A. Jackson; third, Mr H. Bower; fourth. Mr. M. ' RUAHINE SAILS. —The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruahine left 'tuck’land yesterday morning for loading at Tokomaru Bay. Timaru. Lyttelton and Wellington. Line advises that the motor-ship Port Sydney arrived at Ljttelton yesterday from \\ ellington to complete her loading. The vessel is to lea e Lyttelton finally next Saturday for Lon don via Panama. RIMUTAKA'S MOVEMENTS.—The local office of the Mew Zealand Shipping Company advises that the steamer Riniutaka leaves Oarnarutlus evening lor loading at Wellington, Opua and Auckland. The vessel is due here on Januarj 09 and sails finally from Auckland on February 2 for Southampton and London via Panama. SUGAR STEAMER REPORTS.—The Colonial Sugar Refining Corn pan> s steamer Rona reported this niorif ig by wireless that she expects to arrive at Auckland on Wednesday morning. The vessel left Suva last week with a full cargo of raw sugar for discharge at Auckland and Sydney. She will discharge the local portion of her cargo at Chelsea, i KAWAU WEATHER BOUND. —The Northern Company advises that the Kawau is weather bound at Mangawai. and will not be able to make her trip this evening. The auxiliary schooner Pono is loading in her place at Northern Wharf, and will be dispatched for Kawau, Mullet Point and Matakana as soon as the weather moderates. PIR! FROM MELBOURNE.-rThe Nobel' auxiliary schooner Piri is expected to arrive at Auckland any time now with explosives from Melbourne. She left Mel- - bourne on January 5. After discharge the vessel will remain at Auckland to lighter explosives from the steamer Middlesex, which is due from London on January 2S. The auxiliary schooner Huia sailed from Hokianga last Saturday with a full cargo of timber for Melbourne. There she loads explosives for Queensland ports. NIAGARA ARRIVES.—An arrival in the stream at Auckland this morning was the Union Company’s R.M.S. Niagara from Sydney, en route to Vancouver.. After pratique was granted the vessel berthed at the Prince’s Wharf. The Niagara left Sydney shortly after 4 p.m. last Thursday and experienced fair weather until the New* Zealand coast was reached, when she ran into a slight southerly buster, which delayed her slightly.
