BUTTER AND CHEESE
PRODUCTION STILL HIGH STOCKS MOVING PROMPTLY Returns supplied by the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company show that I, boxes of butter and 88,500 crates of cheese have been received into store since July 1, 1927. In terms' of butter-fat the total production of dairy produce recorded in the province during the current season has been 61,431,8251 b, compared with 54,477,4161 b produced up to the corresponding date of the previous season. Despite the dry weather production is still being maintained at a high level, and, for the fortnightly period ended January 11,, 132,508 boxes of butter and 11, crates of cheese were received into’ store. Clearances through store in Auckland have been prompt throughout the season, and the amounts at present held total 123,113 boxes of buter and 21,490 crates of cheese. At this time last year the stored produce totalled 276,598 boxes of butter and 23,210 crates of cheese.
