Special Studios Have Been Errected at Miramar “Glorious New Zealand” is the title of a new film which the Government is making in the South Island in conjunction with MetroGo Id wyn - Mayer. WHEN the previous moving picture ** entitled “Glorious New Zealand” was being filmed the scenes in and around Lunedin were taken at the very end of the series. Now. however, a new picture of this nature is being photographed, and the Government has decided to give the Otago and Southland districts first consideration. The ‘ official photographer, Mr. H. Bridgman, assisted by Mrs. Bridgman, is busy with his motion picture camera taking Scenes from the vicinity of the reserve in Lunedin. This apparatus is of the latest type, costing over £ 600, and although the last filming of “Glorious New Zealand” was a complete success, it is expected that with the aid of this improved device still clearer and more satisfactory pictures will be screened. Already he has taken scenes in Southland as well as around the outskirts of Lunedin, and he will leave shortly for the inland regions of Otago Central and the lakes district, where he is confident of photographing with unprecedented success the wonderful scenery. He states that while in Southland a striking picture of the oyster industry, complete with an excellent prologue, was obtained. For the finishing of the pictures the Government has the special studio at Miramar, and it is anticipated that 30,000 feet a week of film will be turned out.
