PETER GRATTAN FOR HASTINGS

DETER GRATTAN, the proL mising four-year-old son of Peter Moko and Golden Grattan, owned and trained by Percy Rogers at Mangere, is at present undergoing a special preparation for the Hawke’s Bay Cup. When seen in action on his owner’s private track on Tuesday by “Abaydos,” the gelding certainly appealed strongly, as he did his work in free, resolute style. He has improved a lot since last seen out, and a course of swimming exercise is having a beneficial effect upon him. Peter won a double at Hastings last year in the slower class events, and will endeavour to repeat the performance this month in the better grade section.
