SECURITY OF NATIONS
BRITAIN’S POSITION AM INCORRECT REPORT British Wireless—Press Assn Copyright Reed. 11.45 a.m. RUGBY, Monday. A statement published to-day, that the British Government has notified the League secretariat of an intention shortly to submit a. complete scheme on security as seen from the British viewpoint, is not correct, and is apparently an exaggerated description of the procedure, agreed upon by members of the Security Committee at its public meeting last December. The British Government merely proposes, in common, it is understood, with other Governments, to carry out a suggestion then made by M. Benes, chairman of the committee, to send to the League before its next meeting begins, its views on the programme of work to be proposed to the committee. One or two memoranda embodying British views on the committee’s programme are now under preparation, but they make no pretence to be a complete scheme, as was reported A. and N.Z.
