WANTS TO HOLD TWO AUCKLAND CHAMPS.
TAUMARUNUI ATHLETIC CLUB EXECUTIVE MEETING (From Our Own Correspondent) TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. Mr. A. A. Chittenden presided over the executive meeting of the Te Awamutu Amateur Athletic Club on Monday evening. The Hamilton Amateur Athletic Club pointed out that permission had been granted at the annual meeting of the Auckland Provincial Association for the formation of a sub-association, with headquarters at Hamilton. A conference would be held at Hamilton on January 16. Messrs. Chittenden and Nesdale were appointed delegates to attend. It was decided to apply for permission to include the three miles cycle and 440yds hurdles, Auckland Provincial championships, in the club’s programme at the sports meeting to be held on Albert Park on January 30. The secretary reported that there were already several nominations in hand, but the majority would come forward on the closing date, Friday next. Applications for sideshows were fully discussed and it was eventually decided to allot space for this purpose, wicli a charge of not less than £1 Is for each sideshow.
Messrs. G. Jeffs and G. B. Melrose were appointed a canvassing commit* tee.
