At a dinner in honour of Mr. Tim Healy, ex-Governor of Ireland, the President of the Irish Free State, Mr. W. T. Cosgrave, proposed the health of the guest. He said the appointment of an Irish democrat to be their first GovernorGeneral was proof of the essential democracy of their new institutions. Mr. Healy had sustained his position with high dignity and exalted courage, and it was with deep feelings of regret that the Executive Council had granted his petition to be relieved from cares of- State.—A. and N^Z.
