OCCUPANT’S NARROW ESCAPE MAN SERIOUSLY BURNED {From Our Otcn Correspondent) PUTARURU, To-day. Mr. W. S. Henderson, contractor, of Putaruru, was severely burned about the arms and face while sleeping in a tent at Tapapa on Monday night. Mr. Henderson retired with a companion named Ua, who later awoke and had a smoke. It is thought that the cigarette butt thrown away started the fire, for when the sleepers were awakened the whole tent was *n dames. Henderson was brought to Putaruru for medical attention and was Utter conveyed to the Waikato Hospital for further treatment of injuries. which, though painful, are not regarded as serious. The Maori escaped with little injury. The tent, clothes and other belongings of both inmates were completely burned.
