To-day, in the United States, two out of every five cars produced are General Motors cars. This compares with one out of six for 1924, one out of five for 1925, and one out of four for 1926. If the fan belt is slipping a little and there are no tools with which to raise the pulley, it is a good plan to sandpaper the inside of the belt. This cleans off any grease that might cause it to slip, and gives it better traction on the pulleys. Clerk: This is the finest cigarettelighter on the market, madame. Out of a field of 23 e the Erskine was the only car ‘to complete successfully at the trials set in the test. Perth To Sydney Messrs. N. E. Cunningham and E. Cracknell —two West Australian motorcyclists—have established a new record on their Harley-Davidson outfit, from Perth to Sydney, by covering the distance, 2,850 miles, between the two capital cities in six days two hours 26 minutes. Their intermediate times were:—Perth to Adelaide, three days 21 hours 50 minutes, and Perth to Melbourne, five days 50 minutes. They were started from Perth by officials of the West Australian Motor-Cycle Association at 2 p.m. on December 7.
