COASTAL MOVEMENTS— The Taniwha sails at midnight tonight for Paeroa. She is due to arrive back again at 7 o’clock on Thursday morning. The Claymore, sailing at 10.30 p.m. today for Whangarei, returns at half-past seven on Thursday morning. The Motu was to sail at 10 o’clock this morning for Whakatane. , The Omana sails at 1 o’clock this afternoon for Waiwera, Mahurangi and Warkworth. She is due back again at 2 o’clock to-morrow morning. The- Rangitoto, arriving from Thames at 2 o’clock this afternoon, sails again at 5 p.m. to-morrow on the return trip. The Hauiti arrives at 3 o’clock this afternoon from Coromandel and Colville. She is scheduled to sail again at 3 p.m. to-morrow for Kopu and Turua. The Kawau, arriving from Kawau, Mullet Point and Matakana at half-past three this afternoon, sails again at 11 a.m. to-morrow for Kawau, . Takatu, Ti Point and Little and Big Omaha. The Matangi, arriving at 7 a.m. tomorrow from Tauranga, sails again at 7 p.m. the same day on the return trip. The Waipu is due at half-past four tomorrow morning from Kerepeehi. She is to be dispatched again at 4.30 p.m. on Thursday on the return trip. The Richardson steamer Awahou is to ( be dispatched at 5 o’clock this evening' for Tokomaru Bay, Hicks Bay and Gisborne. The Mako is due on Friday from the East Coast, and is scheduled to sail again on Saturday for East Coast ports, Napier and Wairoa. The Coronation sails this evening for Awanui North. The Waimea, sailing at 5 o’clock this afternoon for Gisborne and Napier, returns to Auckland next Sunday. The Katoa, from Dunedin, sailed from Wellington at 5.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due on Thursday. The Kurow is leaving Auckland on Thursday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. The Kamona is to leave Auckland at 10 o’clock this evening for Portland, where she loads cement for Wellington and Lyttelton. The Waipiata leaves Dunedin on Friday via Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington for Auckland. The British Imperial Oil Company’s coastal tanker Paua arrived at Auckland yesterday from Wellington and berthed at the Central Wharf. The Gunbar now arrives at Auckland on Friday from East Coast ports and bays, and sails on Saturday on her return trip to Gisborne, Napier and East Coast bays. The Wairuna sailed from Auckland last evening for Wellington, Beauty Point, Melbourne "and Sydney. WEST ELCAJON IN PORT. —An arrival at Auckland early yesterday afternoon was the American-Australia-Orient steamer, West Elcajon, with a cargo of lumber, case oil and a little general cargo from Pactific Coast ports of America. The West Elcajon loaded at Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco. Eureka and Los Angeles and sailed finally from the last-named port on December 12. She called at Honolulu for an hour or so on December 21 to replenish her bunkers, and then continued her voyage to New Zealand, making the trip in verv fair weather all the way, until about ten days ago, when moderate to strong head seas, accompanied by northerly winds were encountered. The vessel, which is making.her first trip to New Zealand, is berthed at King’s Wharf. The West Elcajon is commanded by Captain L. C. Drewson, and the following are his officers:—Chief, Mr. O. Axdale; second, Mr. A. Preston; third, Mr. E. A. Jork; chief engineer, Mr. H. Goldman; first assistant, Mr. A. Nelson; second, Mr. R. Brady; third, Mr. G. R. Foley; wireless operator. Mr. C. Snively* chief steward, Mr. W. Walter. The local agents, Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane, Limited, advise that the West Elcajon is to be dispatched on Monday next for Wellington, Lyttelton and Napier.
