The British Imperial Oil Company’s coastal tanker Paua arrived at Auckland yesterday from Wellington and berthed at the Central Wharf. The Gunbar now arrives at Auckland on Friday from East Coast ports and bays, and sails on Saturday on her return trip to Gisborne, Napier and East Coast bays. The Wairuna sailed from Auckland last evening for Wellington, Beauty Point, Melbourne "and Sydney. WEST ELCAJON IN PORT. —An arrival at Auckland early yesterday afternoon was the American-Australia-Orient steamer, West Elcajon, with a cargo of lumber, case oil and a little general cargo from Pactific Coast ports of America. The West Elcajon loaded at Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco. Eureka and Los Angeles and sailed finally from the last-named port on December 12. She called at Honolulu for an hour or so on December 21 to replenish her bunkers, and then continued her voyage to New Zealand, making the trip in verv fair weather all the way, until about ten days ago, when moderate to strong head seas, accompanied by northerly winds were encountered. The vessel, which is making.her first trip to New Zealand, is berthed at King’s Wharf. The West Elcajon is commanded by Captain L. C. Drewson, and the following are his officers:—Chief, Mr. O. Axdale; second, Mr. A. Preston; third, Mr. E. A. Jork; chief engineer, Mr. H. Goldman; first assistant, Mr. A. Nelson; second, Mr. R. Brady; third, Mr. G. R. Foley; wireless operator. Mr. C. Snively* chief steward, Mr. W. Walter. The local agents, Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane, Limited, advise that the West Elcajon is to be dispatched on Monday next for Wellington, Lyttelton and Napier.
