DOMINION BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIPS OPEN
SINGLES PLAY COMMENCED Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The fifteenth Dominion championship bowling tournament opened this morning and will continue until Saturday, January 21. About 500 bowlers will take part, nearly half of those being from other parts of New Zealand. The tournament was officially opened by Mr. A. J. Benzie, president of the Bowling Association, and the Deputy-Mayor, Mr. D. G. Sullivan. At the Canterbury green (headquarters), singles play was commenced and will continue until to-morrow. Weather conditions are ideal.
