COLLIDED WITH POST
LORRY DRIVER’S DEATH CHRISTCHURCH ACCIDENT Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. James Porter, who lived at Queen Street, Spreydon, died in hospital this morning following injuries received in an accident on Saturday night. Porter was driving a motor-lorry toward the city when he swerved to avoid a motor-car and the lorry struck a post. Porter was admitted to hospital in an unconscious condition and died at 2.30 a.m. Two other occupants of the lorry escaped serious injury.
