VISIT OF DR. HILL
BOTANIST’S ITINERARY OMISSION OF OTAGO Press Association. DUNEDIN, To-day. At a meeting of bodies interested, over which Mr. T. K. Sidey, M.P., presided, a strong protest was entered against the omission of Otago and Southland from the Itinerary of Dr. Hill, director of the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. Mr. D. Tannock stated that botanical work was negligible elsewhere compared to that at Dunedin. The Hon. G. M. Thomson said that Otago and Southland provinces constituted the most important botanical region in New Zealand. A resolution was passed urging reconsideration of the itinerary.
