The Taranaki Oilfields report: Waiapu No. 2 well has been sunk to a depth of 2,955 feet in hard shale and an B|in. diameter casing to 2,940 ft. Oishome No. 1 well has been sunk to a depth of 2,245 ft. the last 60ft. through shale. The company is now preparing to cement the Biin. casing. The Gisborne No. 2 well transport is proceeding and the contractor is •'ommencing on the erection of the rig.
