ARTIFICIAL SILK GOODS
NEW AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRY (From Our Resident Correspondent.') WELLINGTON, To-day. The manufacture of artificial silk goods on a comprehensive scale is being promoted in Australia, and advice from Home states that a British film, British Celanese, Ltd., intends building a factory in the Commonwealth at an estimated cost of £.1,000,000 for this purpose. Australia is, Britain’s leading market for artificial silk yarn, while large quantities of artificial silk goods and mixture fabrics are imported.
