ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO MURDER WIFE A CHARGE INCREASED Lawrence Mackenzie, aged 41, Is to be charged with attempted murder of his wife, Honor Clark Mackenzie. Mackenzie was charged a little over a week ago with assaulting his wife, causing actual bodily harm. When he appeared Mackenzie was in a collapsed condition, and the police asked for a remand. Mrs. Mackenzie had been found in bed suffering from head injuries. At the Police Court to-day, ChiefDetective Hammond, in asking for a remand until Thursday, said that the charge would be one of attempted murder.
