FORM AT A GLANCE

USEFUL TROTTING GUIDE Mr. G. S. Simpson, of Christchurch, whose zeal, interest and enthusiasm in respect to the light-harness sport has placed him in the first flight of trotting authorities in the Dominion, nas compiled a trotting record in book form, showing the results at all totalisator fixtures from the commencement of the present season to the beginning of December. In addition to this useful information, the statistics affecting winning owners, and sires, successful riders, drivers and trainers are appended, while a table giving the fastest times recorded in New Zealand is included

in the gazette. The Trotting Record as arranged by the Canterbury expert is a vast improvement on other similar publications, in that it gives particulars of the breeding of all liorses that have competed at totalisator meetings since August 1. Mr. Simpson is to be congratulated on his publication, while the guide will also be appreciated by all light-harness enthusiasts. JOINING RANKS OF HANOICAPPERS Mr. Simpson, is now turning his attention in the direction of handicapping and will arrange the adjustments for the Nelson Trotting Club's annual fixture, which takes place this year on January 31 and February 1. In view of his lengthy association with the light-harness sport and his knowledge

of the game generally, the Nelson organisation should have no cause for regret at the choice. The Canterbury sportsman would probably have received similar appointments before but for the fact that he was connected with a good team of horses. Mr. Simpson informs “Abaydos” that he is disposing of all interests in the horses, and this will give him a free hand, in which case it is quite safe to predict that G.S. woill later on find quite a lot of work to do in this direction.
