RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“THE RED RAIDERS” “The Red Raiders,” which will be shown at the Rialto and Regent Theatres to-night, provides Ken Maynard with an ideal vehicle for his varied talents. The picture is crammed with pulsating drama, high action in riding and .fighting, and combines to make a super-Western. The Charles R. Rogers Company, in diverting from the usual types of Western drama, selected a story from the stirring pages of pre-Civil War history. This may have been done before, but not with such accuracy to detail nor on such a massive scale. Maynard’s climb to the top rank of Western heroes is well merited, for each successive picture goes further to prove his fitness for his roles. He is surrounded by an excellent supporting cast, with Ann Drew, the newcomer to films, opposite him in her debut as a leading woman. She is a perfect type for Maynard, and impresses in the part of Jane Logan.
