Car Burned.—A motor-car owned by Mr. S. Smethurst, of King Street, Newmarket, caught on fire in Great North Road yesterday morning, shortly after 11 o’clock, through the engine backfiring. The wiring, dashboard and hcod were burned before the city brigade could extinguish the flames. The can was not insured.
