SANDERS CUP TRIALS

RACE NEXT SATURDAY The first trial race for the selection of Auckland's boat to contend for the Sanders Cup at Stewart Island in February will probably be held next Saturday afternoon. The well-known yacht Rona has -been refitted and painted, in prepartaion for the trials. Her colours are light blue above the water-line, and white beneath. A gold stroke adds a pleasing finish to a neat appearance. Difficulty has been encountered in fitting her mainsail, which had not been setting satisfactorily. The trouble is, however, well in hand, and a perfectlyfitting canvas should be available for Saturday. Avalon is looking in trim and should be able to give a good account of herself.
