MR. HAWKEN TO GO NORTH VISIT TO BAY OF ISLANDS (From Our Resident Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, To-day. The Hon. O. J. Hawken, Minister of Agriculture, has accepted the invitation of Colonel Allen Bell, MR, to visit the Bay of Islands electorate for the purpose of inspecting gum lands in the far north, also lands at Kerikeri and Waipawa Plains, with a view to future development. Mr. Hawken leaves Wellington on Wednesday afternoon’s express to join the Premier on Thursday at Dargaville, with whom he will attend the opening of the Waipoua Forest Road on Friday. He will probably return to Wellington on January 23. The. Hon. Mr. Downie Stewart returns to Wellington from the south to-morrow morning, and will probably preside at a Cabinet meeting later in the week.
