Mrs.. Johnston and her family, of Dannevirke, is spending a brief holiday in Auckland. * * * Mrs. R. M. Craig, is at present in Auckland, prior to visiting Rotorua and Taupo.
Miss Ethel Simmonds is a visitor to Auckland from Invercargill and is staying with Mrs. M. Murray, Parnell.
Miss. C. Connor, of Dunedin, arrived in Auckland by car from the South yesterday and will spend some time here.
Miss Dora Pay ter, who is wellknown in Auckland journalistic circles, has booked her passage to sail for Sydney later in the month by the Maunganui.
Miss E. Richmond, of Nelson, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. George Kissling, Parnell.
Mrs, L. Ross, of Wellington, is a visitor to Auckland.
Miss E. Hill, of Hamilton, is spending the holidays in Auckland.
Miss S. T. Brownlee, of Christchurch, is paying a visit to Auckland, and is at Stonehurst.
Mrs. P. L. Barker is on a visit to Christchurch.
Mr. and Mrs. Angus B. Crickett, Te Kuiti, are in Auckland for the holidays, and are staying with Mrs. Crickett’s mother, Mrs. P. McGuire, Ely Avenue, Remuera.
Miss Cookson, of Whangarei, is staying with her brother, Mr. A. E. SCookson, Symonds Street, and will later go to Christchurch as the guest of her sister, Mrs. F. W. Freeman, Cashmere Hills.
Miss Agatha Cassells, of Toronto, and Miss M. J. Dalton, of North Vancouver, have arrived in Auckland on a holiday visit, and are staying at Stonehurst.
Miss F. Ballin, of Christchurch, is staying at the Grand Hotel.
Among the guests at the Hotel Cargen are Mrs. R. W. Orton and family, of Wanganui.

The marriage arranged between Mr. Alan Humphrey Pilcher, M.C., of Assam, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Pilcher, of “The Schools,” Shrewsbury, and Miss Dorothy Eileen Parrington, of Kinburn, Heswall, Cheshire, daughter of Mr. Stanley Farrington, of Christchurch, New Zealand, and of the late Mrs. Parrington, will take place at Calcutta during January. LATE MRS. G. G. AICKIN Mrs. G. G. Aickin, who died at her home. Clifton Road, Heme Bay, on Tuesday, was an old colonist, and was the widow of the late Mr. G. G. Aickin, for many years connected with the Railway Department. Mrs. Aickin is survived by three daughters, Mrs. R. Y. Collins, Wellington; Mrs. E. F. Hessell, Christchurch; and Miss Aickin, Auckland: and five sons, Mr. T. R Aickin and Mr. F. W. Aickin, Wellington; Mr. E. G. Aickin, Paparoa; Mr. C. Aickin, Auckland; and Mr. G. L. Aickin, Sydney.
