rpHE disappointing trotting mare. Roma Bingen, was yesterday given an initial outing at Alexandra Park with the hopples on. Harry Kinnimont's mare has a good turn of sped, but unfortunately does not use it to the best advantage on race days. It is generally conceded that the daughter of Nelson Bingen will not act on the grass circuit, as trials made on the dirt track have shown her to possess highclass qualifications. Just how Roma will take to the pacing business remains to be seen, but yesterday she did not look upon the alteration with much favour.
