Miss Elizabeth Scott, aged 29, has been chosen as architect for the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre at Stratford-on-Avon, replacing the theatre burned in 1926. There were 72 competitors. Miss Scott’s design is described as bold and splendid, taking full advantage of the beautiful site on the banks of the Avon. —A. and N.Z.-Sun.
