“THE POTTERS” Two young men of the stage who recently made their screen debuts ?>lav important roles in W. C. Fields’s Paramount starring picture, “The Potters ” whmh comes to the Royal Theatre. Kingsland, to-night. Richard “Sheets” Gallagher, former musical comedy star of Dillingham productions, whose first film job was in New York,” is Red Miller, sweetheart of Mamie Potter in the Fields’s picture. Gallagher won enthusiastic comments from Director Luther Reed and production officials for his work in “New York.” The other newcomer is Jack Egan, dark-haired vaudeville comedian, known on the Orpheum Circuit as a member of the Stanley Company. Egan embarked on a studio career when he played a. minor part in Frank-Tuttle’s "Love ’em an’ Leave ’em” with Evelyn Brent, Lawrence Gray and Louise Brooks. He next played a court reporter in “New York," and won the part of Bill Potter on the strength of his performances and likeable screen personality.
The greatest combination of Swedish talent ever used in an American-made picture has been gathered for The Divine Woman.” Greta Garbo is starred in this film: Lars Hanson plavs the leading male role, and the production is being directed by Victor Seastrom. All have come from Sweden to America in the last few years.
