THE DEMI-BRIDE” The Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film. "The Demi-Bride,” starring Lew Cody and Norma Shearer, will be shown at the Grand Theatre to-night. Norma Shearer is seen as a French schoolgirl, while Cody appeal's as a gay gentleman of leisure. Carmel Myers has the role of the girl’s stepmother. While watching a fencing lesson at a ladies’ finishing academy which is next door to the scene'of a garden party the gentleman attracts the attention of one of the pupils. She commits several blunders and after the performance is expelled, arriving home in time to interrupt a tete-a-tete between her stepmother and the same man, Phillipe. She jumps to the conclusion that Phillipe is really interested in her. From this point on the situation becomes more and more farcical. Cody’s transformation from the cool "man about town” to a state of utter helplessness at the hands of a schoolgirl, being amazing and amusing in the extreme.

Irving Cummings’ first picture for Fox Films under a new contract will be "Dressed to Kill,” a crook story with New York as a background. Cummings is in the East now with Howard Estabrook, his scenario writer, gathering material. Edmund Lowe is mentioned for the featured role. Samuel Goldwyn has decided to name the forthcoming Ronald ColmanViJma Banky feature, “The Flower of Spain.” instead of "Leatherface,” as already announced. The story is based on the novel by Baroness Orczy. Its scene is laid in Flanders during the Dutch rebellion against King Philip of Spain. Fred Xiblo will direct the production, scheduled to begin within the next few days.
