False Fire Alarm.—A pedestrian passing: the concrete building in Gillies Avenue, Epsom, occupied by Mr. P. G. Wolfe, cooper, at 6.45 last evening. saw sparks and smoke rising and gave the alarm. The brigade discovered the alarm was false, the fire being in an incinerator where rubbish was being destroyed. Of England's male population, 26 per cent, are bachelors, and 34 per cent, are married, but have no dependent children. A Danish wireless operator has arrived in London after cycling 27,000 miles round the world.
