POWER-BOAT RACE WILL NOT BE RUN

OUTBOARDS TO RACE The New Zealand Power-Boat Association advises that the races tor speed launches, which were to have been held to-morrow outside St. Mary’s Bay boat harbour, have been abandoned. This decision was arrived at owing to the boats being still away on holiday cruising. The race for the Farmers Cup for outboard motorboats has been postponed owing, to insufficient entries. This is an inter-provincial contest and at present entries from other centres are not coming to hand as was hoped.

Several boat-owners, however, are desirous of contesting an outboard race, and an event for these speeders will be held in St. Mary’s Bay at 4 p.m. to-morrow.
