LATE MRS. E. W. ALISON

* The funeral of the late Mr. E. W. Alison, wife of the Hon. E. W. Alison, took place at O'Neills Point Cemetery yesterday afternoon and was largely attended. The Rev. W. G. Monckton, vicar of Takapuna, conducted the service at the graveside. Mr. Alison received telegrams of sympathy from members of Doth Houses of the Legislature and other messages, numbering nearly 400, from representative public men and personal friends, including Sir Edwin and Lady Mitchelson, Sir Walter and Lady Stringer, Dame Christina Massey. Lady Brett, Bishop Cleary and Archdeacon Holbrook. Large numbers of wreaths were sent including those from members of both Houses of the Legislature, the Mayor and councillors of Auckland, Takapuna and Devonport, the Auckland Harbour Board the Auckland Hospital Board, Auckland District Committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference, Auckland Racing Club. Takapuna Jockey Club, Avondale Jockey Club, and Auckland Trotting Club.
