Three Year*’ Probation.— In the Police Court at Gisborne to-day Francis John Cassidy pleaded guilt, to charges of theft and false pretence . and was admitted to probation for three years. Fall From Radio Mast. —When Mr f A. Bews, of 26 Old Mill Road. Gre Lynn, slipped and fell 25 feet from wireless mast at his home, he escape* serious injury, but his left collarbon was broken. Frankton-Waihi Excursion. —An excursion train at cheap fares will be run from Frankton to Waihi and back next -.unday. Motors to the beach connect with the train. Particulars are advertised in this issue by the Railway Department. Gorse Fires at Mount Albert.— A gorse fire broke out on a vacant section in Melvern Road. Mount Albert, yesterday afternoon. Little damage was done before the Mount Albert Brigade extinguished the outbreak. A small fire also broke out on the same section in the evening. Fire Insurance Figures. —The house at 3 Victoria Avenue. Remuera, which was badly damaged by fire vesterdav. was insured for £3.500 with'the Australian Provincial Assurance Association. Furniture insurances are as follow: Mr. Heighway, £6OO. in the Standard Office: Mr. Hooley, £250, in the Victoria Insurance Office Mrs. Pickering, £l5O in the South Britsh Office.
