MEMORIAL TABLET
UNVEILED AT TAMAHERE Special services were held in St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. Tamahere, on Sunday evening in connection with the unveiling of a tablet to the memory of the late Hon. R. T. Bollard. The service was conducted by the Rev. S. R. Wareing, of Hamilton, and the Vicar of Cambridge, the Rev. E. Lion,el Harvie, dedicated the tablet. Preaching from the text, “I will bless thee, and thou shalt be a blessing.” Mr. Harvie said the late Mr. Bollard had given his life, intellect and ability to the service of his country and in thus blessing New Zealand, he had himself been blessed. The memorial would stand as a monument to the late Mr. Bollard’s life and service, while his character would remain a monument and a blessing to generations yet unborn. The tablet, which is of pearl grey granite, bears the words in gold lettering, “A.D.M.G., and in honoured memory of the Honourable Richard Francis Bollard, M.P., for many years a faithful servant in this church. At rest. August 25, 1927. This tablet is erected by the parishioners of St. Stephen’s, Tamahere.”
