The contest ended in the ninth round when Maddox s left Inkle gave out and the referee Awarded the fight to Leckie In a second match of 10 ttrands, Tommy Driffiths. of Dunedin, Bst 51b. drew with F. Taylor of Auckland Sst. j- „ solendid contest. The pour, which was the closest seen here for a w time, was clean and scientific, bo n th men ’displaying perfect foot and head work.
