LYRIC

“BENT FOR HEAVEN” In screen form “Bent for Heaven” retains all the stirring suspense of the original play, and although for a quarter of a century Commodore Blackton has been associated with notable screen successes, he has never turned out a picture as compelling as this Patsy Ruth Miller, in the leading feminine role of Jude, the young mountain girl, gives a remarkably convincing characterisation of courageous and lovely girlhood. John Harron, as Sid, her sweetheart newly returned from the war only to find a family feud awaiting him, is excellent, catching the spirit of the gay, daredevil young hero of the story.
