Good eating plums are still dear at 6d to 8d a lb. Apricots are a little cheaper now and are selling at 6d to 8d a lb. Cucumbers are in demand, and good supplies are coming forward. They are marked at 4d, 5d and 6d each in the shops. Vegetables as a whole are scarce and the markets are unsettled. French beans in the marts make 3d to 4d a lb; rhubarb, 2s to 5s a dozen bundles; spinach, 6d a dozen; cauliflowers, on benches, 2s to 6s a dozen; cabbages, on benches, 2s to 4s 6d a dozen.
