A STIFF TEST
AUCKLAND RIFLEMEN AT THE BUTTS ASSOCIATION MEETING j Riflemen were subjected to a stiff test at Penrose yesterday, when the Auckland Rifle Association held its 54th annual meeting. A bad light and a tricky wind put a premium on accurate marksmanship, but some good shooting -was witnessed. Results are: PRESIDENT'S MATCH Seven shots at 300 yards. S. E. Devore (winner of the service match); the Gordon Shield and Waihi Rooster, City and Suburban B team (winners of the champion match); the Onehunga Bowl and trophy, W. McFarland (winner of the Onehunga match). Mr. McFarland also wins a gold medal and 100 rounds of ammunition for being the first member of the Whakatane Club to obtain the possible score in any competition; a trophy. A. G.
