BATTLE COLOURS IN GREAT ORDER
WYNDHAM CUP CHANCE (Special to THE BUNA CHRISTCHURCH. Friday. If the Riccarton-trained Battle Colours runs up to his track work he should have little difficulty in winning the Wyndham Cup on Monday next. He galloped as well as any of the Cup horses at headquarters prior to his departure for the Southern fixtures, and with only 7.3 to carry on Monday he appears to hold a mortgage on the mile and a quarter event. The Solferino gelding galloped a remarkably fast nine furlongs several day s ago, and as he has done particularly well since that time his track work alone indicates that he looks the best of good things for a big race. There is little doubt that he is i* 3o " proving all the time, and after contesting the Wyndham Cup he will c <> m Pf* e in the much-discussed Invercargill Cup on the following day. Should he wm on Monday a penalty may not pre\em him from continuing the good work, i can be said that he possesses larly bright prospects of annexing botn these important races. Taboo and r« Note may prove bis most dangerous opponents in the Wyndham Cup.
